He looks better than original. Not that blue and in awesome perspective.
I have never heard of him before and I had no chance to since all superheroes known in my country came from US. But I don't complain, cause they imported some anime superheroes during my childhood so I knew about anime and I could search for more when I was older.
There are so many incredible, imaginative, unique, and offbeat superheroes and related Kaiju in Japanese fiction, that sadly are both obscure here in America, or never really clicked in Japan, thus never leading to proper sequels.
"Metalder", "Daitetsujin 17", "Juspion", "Kairyu Daikessen", "Ogon Bat", and of course "Robot Detective K" here.
I know that Shout! Factory, an impressive DVD company here in the states, will be officially releasing "Zyuranger" here before 2015, thanks to a deal with Toei and Saban (the Power Ranger guys).
I'm really hoping that this will lead to more Toei heroes getting released, but likely they will stick to only the more recent Super Sentai shows. And even than, who knows how long that will last.
I agree. For my generation (I'm almost 16 btw), Power Rangers is the way we got into tokusatsu shows or at know about them (the others are Ultraman, sometimes Kamen Rider, Giant Robo* and Kikaider depending on where one lives)
*here in America we called it Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot, Johnny being the english name of GR hero Daisaku Kusama and Flying Robot being Giant Robo's name
Wow! What an awesome robot, just looked it up and wasn't disappointed. Definitely one of the cooler things I've come across in recent years, love the outfit he wears outside of battle, just because he's a detective robot doesn't mean he can't be stylish. Awesome artwork dude.
Anytime! I'm actually working on an OC with a similar concept to this character. Though, he's more human-looking. His name is KG-15. The letters KG being a pun on the Japanese word for police or detective, "Keiji."
